— traveler, builder of systems, keeper of this mountain —
Hey there! I’m Simon Cornelius P. Umacob, a seasoned tech enthusiast with deep expertise in designing and building entire systems from scratch. My experience with Linux and Unix spans everything from traditional manual setups to cloud-based architecture in AWS and GCP. I even modified the bootloader of a BSD-based OS to display our logo once. Over my career, I’ve written a ton of software using various languages like Python, Node.js, PHP, and more. Basically, I’ve been there and done that. If you’re in tech, you know the specific tools aren’t what matter most. I’m tech-agnostic, so I will research and use whatever technology best solves your problem.
When I’m not building systems, I enjoy traveling (and working remotely while doing so), playing video games, and exploring robotics. Lately, I’ve also re-ignited a passion for embedded systems.
Artificial Intelligence is a thing now, and LLMs can now implement a lot of the things that I do, but trusting AI output without real engineering expertise is risky. That is how you end up with critical flaws, like exposing security credentials right on the frontend. AI is a great productivity multiplier, but you need a true expert at the wheel to know what to build, what not to build, and how to guide the tools effectively.
If you need a reliable expert to build your next system, reach out to me at pillars.pursuer.3t@icloud.com.

— a traveler’s field notes —
To whoever stands before this monument, know that these words were carved in stone when the networks fell and our rulers traded truth for tyranny. As our cities crumbled and public funds vanished, the regime condemned the digital sanctuaries we built, framing our blocky worlds as monsters to hide their own moral rot. We etched this testament into solid rock because a digital signal can be erased, but physical memory endures. Read these verses, honor the spark of creation, and remember that the true corruption never lay within our screens, but on the thrones of those who blamed them. Ikulong na 'yan, mga kurakot!
Verse 1
Step right up and see the modern scapegoat show
Pointing fingers while the real problems continue to grow
You ignored the warning signs and now you need a lie
To cover up the budget cuts that passed you right on by
So blame the bright blocky worlds of Roblox on the screen
Call it the most dangerous place that you have ever seen
It is easier to panic than to actually do your job
Feeding all that fear right to the angry voting mob
Now you are preaching morals while the systems fall apart
Putting on a circus act and calling it an art
But the youth are getting smarter and they see right through the act
Trading all your fiction for a little piece of fact
So keep your speeches moving while you try to hide the truth
Failing every family and abandoning the youth
It is a masterclass in dodging what you really have to face
Leaving all the heavy lifting to some digital space
Chorus
They claim these blocks will rot your brain!
But it is just a cover for their own disdain!
Yes it is Roblox taking all the blame!
To mask the failure of the political game!
They point the finger to deflect the view!
Avoiding actions that are way overdue!
So hear the truth and let the message fly!
We are calling out the government lie!
Verse 2
You want to talk about violence let us talk about the truth
Let us talk about Minecraft and the corruption of the youth
Is it the pixelated pigs that are making kids insane
Or is it the complete lack of funding for the brain
You claim that Counterstrike is teaching how to aim
But ignore the real steel that carries all the blame
Then you move to Helldivers looking for a fight
Terrified of democracy and spreading all the light
Even Super Mario is on your hit list now
For jumping on some turtles with a furrow on his brow
It is a comical distraction an absolute disgrace
While real world terror stares you right in the face
Bullshit laws, fractured every soul
Censoring the internet to keep us in the dark
Hoping that your propaganda leaves its little mark
But we are not your pawns and we are not your sheep
We are fully wide awake while you are fast asleep
Look into the mirror and finally take a stand
The problem is not pixels but the rulers of this land
You want total access with no accountability
Crushing every drop of our true civility
Well we refuse to bow and we refuse to bend
This tyrannical game has finally met its end
So take your broken policies and throw them all away
There is not a single gamer who is buying what you say
The truth is coming out and the system starts to crack
They want to take advantage and control the flow!
But we are wide awake and we are ready to go!
Stop blaming video games and fix your own mess!
You are the architects of all this societal distress!
Take some accountability you absolute fools!
We are tearing down your system and breaking your rules!
Yes we are calling it out and ending your reign!
The revolution is here and it cannot be detained!
Random rants from an alien from outerspace.
After years of not having a personal site, I got bored and finally decided to build one. I initially wanted to create a Zelda: BOTW/TOTK clone, but since this is a public website, I realized it might cause copyright issues. There's a reason why there's a running meme on Nintendo lawyers. So I swapped Link for an astronaut and put together a sandbox instead. It doesn't really have a unified theme, but hey, it's a sandbox, so why not? The side-scroller that opens up when you step through the mushroom portal is obviously a Super Mario clone, but again, I had to tweak it to avoid copyright trouble.
I've always wanted to build a website as a game. Although I have the coding and infrastructure background, I'm not much of an artist and had no idea how to design or animate characters. Fortunately, with current AI tools, that's no longer an issue. I managed to generate the characters without knowing a thing about Blender. I relied mostly on GPT-6 Astra for character design because I currently have access to the free Plus plan from a promo, though Astra burns through tokens insanely fast. It's practically impossible to build a full game on Astra alone when a 5-hour limit gets wiped out in 15 minutes. Those viral videos showing full games built entirely on Astra are technically possible, but the token consumption is brutal. I still prefer Claude for the actual coding; it's sharp, capable, and far more token-efficient.
For the raised fit temple, I generated a Rage Against the Machine-style track using Gemini. I took my rambling rants about the Philippine government and agencies like the DICT and CICC, fed them to Gemini, and assigned it the persona of a musician rephrasing my frustration. It ended up turning the rant into actual music. It was a pleasant surprise, so I uploaded it to share with the world.
I'm from the Philippines, and to be frank, living here can feel like dealing with a mess of a country. Whenever people used to ask me what was good about the Philippines despite the failed flood control projects, daily rotational brownouts, trash, and relentless corruption, I always told them we at least had a free internet. Under the current regime, that's no longer true. Our DICT has practically turned into the "Department of Internet Censorship and Takedowns," focusing on surveilling ordinary citizens. While European governments fight hard to protect user rights by banning mandatory online ID registration, preventing cross-platform profiling, and enforcing strict data protections, Philippine officials do the exact opposite. Every other week I get alerts that my personal data has been leaked. Sure, some details like old phone numbers or addresses might be outdated, but permanent details are out there forever, and government policies only increase those security risks. Meanwhile, government agencies are hit by frequent cyberattacks, yet instead of securing digital infrastructure, insecure officials focus on censoring criticism, threatening to ban Facebook, and pushing mandatory IDs under the guise of "protecting the children." It's the classic playbook: never let a good crisis go to waste.
Anyway, this rant is getting a bit long, so I'll cap it off here for now.
